Press Release; a new name for future releases: 23/04/2020

For all commercial music which I have produced or contributed to up to this date, I have used one of two monikers which are either 'MDR' or 'Bymastermind'. These production names were a simple way to identifiably embed my contribution to records. As such, my public social media is titled either 'MDR' or 'Bymastermind' to allow the public to identify with my work. As time has past, so have my desires to keep my producer identity separate from my personal identity. The link between my personality and the music I make has grown such a strong relationship, that I have decided to simplify things.
Future releases to which I contribute towards or produce, no matter to what extent, will now simply be identified by the name "Aaron" or "Aaron Willis" where relevant, which is my birth name. This reflects the growth within my career in the music industry, and embodies the more organic and true sound which I wish to share in the future.
To reflect this, all social media titles baring the names 'MDR' or 'Bymastermind' will be updated to 'Aaron' or 'Aaron Willis' where relevant.
All music released prior to this announcement remains unaffected.
Upcoming Projects
Throughout February I helped record a number of talented independent groups at Staffordshire university. There were two particularly special bands which I worked with this month. One is the youthful and energetic '13 Meters', an upcoming four piece punk rock ensemble from Staffordshire. The latter group was an incredible band who go by the name of 'Stepping Lane', recording their unique twist on the Jackson 5 hit; 'I want you back'. Both bands were kind enough to let me co produce a single for them, with both due to be released soon. Watch this space!

'affinis abstracta/Abstract Affinity'
'Abstract Affinity' is my debut E.P into the genre of dance music. This body of work is inspired by elements of classic house and trance, featuring a slurry of electronic and acoustic instrumentation.
The title abstract affinity refers to the use of techniques taken from acousmatic influences, Such as Mathew Herbert and Bernard Parmigiani.

The result is a combination of real world sound and melody driven by energetic electronic drum beats, giving a refreshing take on popular dance music.
​
This idea has been in production for over a year, with final commercial preparations currently taking place.
